This is probably my favorite piece of Pyrex to date. I love the shape and the stand. Unfortunately, They taped the lid to it and when I took the tape off, some of the design came off with it. Darn.

I noticed this picture sitting in the back room of a local shop. I asked the owner about it. She had no history on the painting. She bought it from an estate sale. It is an original oil on canvas. You can see the artists name if you click on the third image. It measures about 24" x 36". I fell in love with it.
I love the chaffing dish, and the painting is very pretty too. The little women in the painting are so well expressed. It looks like the one on the left is wearing silk stockings!
ReplyDeleteI like both too! I have some paintings like that as well - I love searching for them!

Oh, my God, Jamie. I am totally in love with your painting, too.
ReplyDeleteHow DO you manage to find all of these wonderful things?? It reminds me of a scene from movies that I loved in the 60's - like Audrey Hepburn in Funny Face, Fashion Week in the Big City, Doris Day at work in a downtown skyscraper, Mad Men, stuff like that.
I remain ever envious of so many of the fabulous things you have found!
I REALLY Dig that Pyrex design. If there were a camp/bowling shirt with that design I'd buy it in a heartbeat!
