Give Me Some Sweet Inspiration

I'm loving all these white interiors.
Practical? Maybe not,
but we really, really need some
inspiration to see us through this
never ending fifth wheel redo.

Sierra foothill red dirt and white
may not be a marriage made in heaven...

but a five gallon bucket of white paint
just may wash away all the funk in the trunk.
Hardwood floors add some warmth,
don't they?

I just want CLEAN!

Really clean.

We just can't seem to
keep moving on this one.
We even got a bid from a painter
to slather her in white.
Too much money!

Removing the upper cabinets is a start.
It opened it up a little.
Open shelving helps me breath easier.

Removing ugly glass panels helped too.

No more ugly carpet.
No more rotten hardwood.
No more flooring, period.

Next weekend we'll paint.
Really.
Next weekend.
Honest.
Send me some inspiration.
Tell me how much better she will look
dressed all in white.

Island Dreaming

I'm dreaming of an island.
Not a tropical island but a kitchen island.
I found this console at the Salvation Army a couple of years ago.

We are considering repurposing it for a kitchen isand
in the house that we will build someday...

We would leave the doors on the front and
take the back off. We would have to remove its
musical parts. I hate doing that, but it would be
handy storage for large pots and pans.
Sorry Dean, you'll need to vacate the property.

I love the sleek legs.

We could have a stainless steel top fabricated.
I don't think that would cost too much.
The console is 18 inches deep so we would
have the top made deeper to accommodate
bar stools on the front side.

I like the brushed stainless.

We probably won't have a sink.
I sort of like the idea of being able to move it.

I also like the galvanized metal.
It might be too busy though.
What do you think?

This island has a very sleek, modern look.
I like it.

Do any of you have stainless steel island/countertops?
Do you like them? Are they difficult to maintain?
I'd love to hear your pros and cons.
