Alfred Hendrickx designed furniture for a company in Belgium called Belform in the 50's and 60's. I wasn't able to find too much information on him. His beautifully designed pieces speak for themselves.
I really like that coffee table that's third from the bottom. Love the glass and wood together but even more I like the storage area. The dining table is lovely too.
Should I bring the strawberries and chocolate OR the bread and cheese for the fondue party that I just KNOW you're planning. Oh hell, I'll just bring the wine. The furniture is stunning and I'm sure, when you can find it, it is veddy veddy expensive. Blog's lookin' very cool, girlfriend.
I have a simular bartable like on the photo 11 for sale.
The bartable shown on the photo here misses it's top ceramic, mine includes it's ceramic which closes and opens the section where bottles or magazines can be stored...
Several sculptors/ceramic artists did make the ceramic pieces in the fifties for the furniture company Belform Van Fleteren which was located in Mechelen, Belgium. In this company, Alfred Hendrickx was the designer.
Bartable is in very good condition and the ceramic sliding top as well.
The artist who made the ceramic sliding top in this case was the Belgian sculptor Jan Dries. A litlle information on this artist in the following link, once you are on his biography you can copy the text and translate it in Google Translater, choose translation NEDERLANDS to ENGLISH or....
I wouldn't mind trading my dining room set for that one. Wouldn't mind at all.
