We returned to the (crime) scene today and liberated** the table. Okay, so I made my husband grab the table and throw it in the back of the car while I kept the motor running . And seriously, it most likely would have rotted in that funky trailer. I'm not sure but I think I heard a "thank you" coming from the back of the car as we drove away.
call it an "Intervention" - which it was! Nice score.
ReplyDeleteThat boat looks very tempting, but when I'm tempted by a boat I always remind myself of the old adage about the two best days in a boat owner's life.
Nice! That table looks great in front of your fantastic windows (which make me green with envy!)
ReplyDeleteWell they rescue Animals all the time... its only natural that kind carring, and concerned people can rescue Midcentury furnishings... :P
ReplyDeleteMy parent's had a table exactly like that in our rec room! Good for you for taking and giving it a good home:)
ReplyDeleteYES!! I wish you would have documented the "liberation" with photos; that would have made a funny story board.
ReplyDeleteIt looks much happier in it's new home; You did a good thing, madam!
I couldn't be more jealous of your living room if I tried.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your first "steal"...
Good Job! Its like you are a vintage social worker, taking that table away from its "abusive" trailer home :-)
ReplyDeleteLooks like that lucky table has suffered enough and found the perfect home!
ReplyDeleteThe table looks great! And I'm glad I was able to provide vocabulary help for justification.
ReplyDelete(sounds of Christine whining) . . . Ummmmmmmmm. I'm TELLLLLLLLING. (more sounds of Christine whining). Seriously, that is one beautiful table--I had one like it when I lived in San Francisco but I'm pretty sure the one you found isn't that one, but, wait, you know, hmmmmmmmm . . .
ReplyDeletethe table thanks you for 'liberating' it!
ReplyDeletewow, it looks like it was meant for your space all along...what a perfect match. it looks so elegant now.

What a great story! Thanks for visiting my blog. I, too, am a mid-century madam.
ReplyDeleteBest,
Colleen
Good for you and good for that table, it would have just rotted or been destroyed in a quicker, more violent way. It looks like it was born under that window. Ya did what ya had ta do.
