Modern Furniture

....okay, I'm a huge fan of modern furniture, but the following items, not so much.

Pretty colors, yes. Comfort, no.

Let's face it...these are a bit creepy.

I think falling off your bar stool sums these up.
It wouldn't even require an alcoholic beverage.

Might feel a little lumpy, don't you think?

I'd feel like I was in the psychiatrist's office.

What would you call this? A ribcage table? A fish bone table? No thanks.

Sitting on butterflies would just feel wrong!

I wonder if my bum would even fit in this flower.
And where exactly do your legs go?
Straddling the petals....in a dress....? Not good.

This may have pretty lines, but I think it would be
pretty darn uncomfortable.
This is just all wrong.
What the heck is he covering up??

This is the mother of all couches.
Doesn't it just say lay back and relax?
NO! It says sit up straight!
By the way....Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there.

  1. Ha ha ha! I have to agree with you! And the funny thing is, I'm sure each one of these costs a pretty penny.

OK, So the green amoeba couch is one I *might* try... IF the seat is "deep" enough. The rest? No thanks!

  2. i too am a skeptic when it comes to so called modern designs...couch or an arm chair needs to be relaxing....we dont live in the victorian era right to be sitting up straight in our own house..lol...reminds me of age old "parlour rooms"

  3. Modern furniture refers to furniture produced from the late 19th century through the present that is influenced by modernism. It was a tremendous departure from all furniture design that had gone before it. Dark or gilded carved wood and richly patterned fabrics gave way to the glittering simplicity and geometry of polished metal. The forms of furniture evolved from visually heavy to visually light.

  4. There is a frozen yogurt place in town that has those short seated bar stools. They suck! It is an exercise of pure will and determination just to sit in those things without toppling over!

  5. Ugly and uncomfortable...if that black furry one was in my house, I would have nightmares!

Hope your Mother's Day was fun!
