Double the pleasure.....look at how much fun these ladies are having.
That's because Mr. Fabulous is at the helm . Check out the sport coat and turtleneck. He has got it going on. I remember sitting in the beauty parlor watching my mom endure the wash, curl, dry & comb-out routine every week. I believe Wednesdays was her hair day. I rather enjoyed spending time in the salon listening to the ladies share secrets and gossip with each other. In retrospect, it was probably a time out of sorts for these fifties moms. Actually, I think it would be really cool to only have to go through the hair routine once a week. It sure beats my daily hair ritual. Maybe they had it right.
What a lovely Cleopatra inspired hairdo. Bewitched, bejeweled, and bewildered.
I don't know what I like better, the earrings or the forward sweeping hair. Tres elegante!
I'm thinking an Ann Margaret wanna be. The question is, what was she thinking?
OH what a wonderful Post! My Grandmother is 87 and RELIGOUSLY wendsday is her hair and shopping day, and I take her every week. But much like you i love the gossip and all the stories they share about "the good old days" And their hair MY GOD! Fanny Flagg hit the nail on the head with the following poetry peice "Texas is big, DANG BIG! We got big cars, big bugs, and big BIG hair!" haha It always amazes me how high they like to 'batt' it up! :)
DANG! That's hilarious! A friend of mine always joked about big hair and and the danger of standing too close to the burn barrel. It has to be pronounced big "har" though. That's awful sweet of you to take your grandma to the salon every. What a good grandson.
I hope Mick's parents really really appreciate what an incredible son they have!! If they didn't, I'd adopt him in a minute, LOL! The last time I sat under one of those dryer hoods, SMOKE started coming out as I (too slowly) realized that the chemicals the "stylist" had used to blonde my hair were cooking from the heat! I remember my grandmother coming to visit and announcing that she could only stay a week because she had to get back for her hair appointment. And believe me, we were sooooo thankful for that!
I have to admit I love these hairdos--think about how much time and effort these complicated concoctions took! They are amazing. If I had enough hair I might try one! Awesome post!
I remember going with my grandma to her weekly appointment. She always had her hair up, similar to the last style pictured;so, I couldn't believe the one day when I saw it down, it was halfway down her back!
