I was at the door of the Salvation Army at opening time to claim my
"Brasilian" beauty. It looked so pitiful in the store I was secretly planning
on staining or painting it black (gasp!) but I didn't dare mention that in
my previous post....shudder the thought. It's amazing how much better a
piece looks once you get it home, isn't it? I touched it up a little and gave it
a good polish and it looks so much better.
The top looks warped in these photos but it really isn't.
I'm loving those drawer pulls.
I realize I shouldn't clutter it up with albums but that
was my justification for purchasing another
piece of furniture for a house that is already bursting
at the seams. If it doesn't have a specific function,
it doesn't come home.
And for $15.00, I couldn't pass it up.
MmmMmmm wish I could find such nice things at thrift shops!
ReplyDeleteThat is a smoking hot deal! There are enough Mid Century Modern sellers around my parts that to find something that nice for that kind of price is miraculous. But I still keep looking. Nice find!
ReplyDeleteI love it! You're one fasting-movin' mama.
ReplyDeleteI didn't even get time to comment on the previous post before you'd purchased.
I could hug you sometimes!
I was thinking about it last night, and I knew it was going to look better with a little spit and polish! I want to come over and admire it as your new fabulous album-holder!
ReplyDeleteWow, $15 what a deal! There's a Drexel Declaration Hutch at my local Salvation Army, but they want $200. Still can't help myself to figure out which wall it would go on in our house.
ReplyDeleteOMG...what a deal!!! It looks gorgeous in your home. You must be thrilled.
ReplyDeleteI love that piece! It looks so gorgeous in your home.
ReplyDeleteSO amazing - congrats! Brasilia is my favorite MCM style. I just acquired a dresser that I am restoring as we speak. I am removing black paint from some of the drawers and the 2 night stands. Funny you mentioned you were thinking to paint yours black - nooooo! LOL
ReplyDeleteWhat an AMAAAAZING find!! I love those pulls too!! Brilliant!! <3
