Hello handsome Rambler, what do you say?
I'd love to see our little Scamp hook up
with this hunky tow package...
Wouldn't they look good together?
They could ScRamble across the country and back.
This lovely is currently for rent.
I hope someone moves in and treats her right.
Mid Century aMazing...
These two beckon to us every morning to come and sit a spell.
Tempting, aren't they?
My son and I met the man who lives behind these gates.
He was kind enough to give us a tour of
his garden and garden room.
His home was built in 1929 and is absolutely fabulous.
He didn't want me to take pictures so you'll just have to trust me.
I love the way the trees grow above this house.
I think this is a little beach house
that got lost in the mountains.
It's very charming.
The collection of wall art changes frequently.
I love the red concrete.
Another lovely cottage.
The yard is always so tidy.
This house has a beautiful little water feature.
It cools us off during our hot summer walks.
Our 80 something year old neighbor a few doors
down has lived here since 1956.
That's her caddy in the carport.
She filled us in on 50+ years of neighborhood
gossip the first day we met.
When our dogs escape, she corrals them into her yard.
Then she marches down to our house and marches
my husband back to her house to collect the mutts.
She then bends his ear for an hour or so.
He doesn't mind.
There is some owl love going on in this house.
Our neighbor, the dog corraler,
has quite the green thumb.
Don't you think?
This beautiful spanish hacienda was built a few years ago.
The original home was built in the early 1900's I believe.
I'm not sure if they tore the original home down or built around it.
The garage is the original.
I was fortunate enough to see the house before it's makeover.
I was sad to see it go.
And finally, the ivy house.
This is the coolest place.
I'm not sure what it's doing to the siding,
but it sure looks great.
Hey. That was fun! Give me a few weeks and I'll do the same. It's amazing how different the architecture in your 'burb is compared to mine!
ReplyDeleteYay! Loved seeing those houses. I stayed in Santa Barbara once for a week with some local film students, and the architecture was like nothing I'd seen!
There sure are alot of fun things to look at in your neighborhood! I especially enjoyed the Rambler, because my grandparents always had one!
ReplyDeleteMMMC, Looking forward to visiting your neighborhood.
ReplyDeleteCarol, walking the neighborhood gives you a whole different perspective doesn't it? I notice something new each morning.
It looks as thought you live in a beautiful neighborhood.
ReplyDeleteAnd there is a house here covered in ivy too. It's been up for sale for a few months, I see it when I stop at one of my usual thrifts. I love what the ivy looks like, I think it makes houses look fairytale like. haha =)
I loved this! I think you are so lucky that you got to see the home behind the gate. That house that's for rent looks so neat I wish I could move in there myself.
ReplyDeleteAnd our Grandpa used to drive Ramblers, so I have a certain fondness for them. Lori drove a blue Rambler wagon when we were in high school, too.
ScRamble - how clever! I LOVE that.
This is your hood? Wow! I'm in love. Please show me more, walk! The Rambler in the photo was the same Rambler I had in High School. I loved it and so did my love life, all the seats folded down, my generous Grandfather had know idea.
