Yesterday we took a drive over to Yosemite National Park to meet up with my in-laws. They were celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary. We live about an hour and a half from the valley floor and I am embarrassed to admit, we haven't been there is several years. It is one of the most beautiful places I have ever experienced, so I'm not sure why we waited so long to return.

Right before my camera batteries died I snapped a picture of what looks to be wire Bertoia chairs. Could it be? They were outside the rooms at the Yosemite Lodge. Very cool indeed. You knew I'd slip some MCM in here, now didn't you?
**update on chairs: Alison (or Kevin) at A Bit of Butter suggested they might be Russell Woodard chairs from the Sculptura line. That is surely what they look like.
Those chairs look to be Russell Woodard chairs in the Sculptura line. They are my absolute favorite patio chairs ever!!!
ReplyDelete(And I happened to find two next to a dumpster earlier this year and just had them powder-coated...they're awesome!)
Thanks for the info! I couldn't find anything like them when I googled Bertoia chair. They are sitting outside most of the rooms and I was a little surprised they weren't chained down! Maybe they are knock-offs but they looked pretty old. I'm going to check out Russell Woodard chairs. Thanks again.
ReplyDeleteBeen a few years since I've been to Yosemite too... =)
ReplyDeleteThanks for putting those photos up! I love seeing your environs. Can't wait to see winter ones.
ReplyDeleteYou're a bit crazy MCM!
PS Love the autumny-bronzey look.
MMMC, Me crazy?? That's a little like the pot calling the kettle black, don't you think?
ReplyDeleteatomic ranch...you ought to go. The crowds aren't so bad this time of year.
When something is close by we always think, "Oh, we'll get around to going," and you never do unless company comes or there's an event. Those are great pix--sort of reminds me of when I go to Taos and photograph and the photos come out so clear because the air is dry. I think I may have gone to Yosemite when I was a wee child, back when everyone used to feed the bears out the car window. STOOOOO-pid!
ReplyDeleteChristine, now the bears just help themselves. They love convertibles with food stowed inside. Just like a can of sardines.
ReplyDeleteWonderful! I must take the kids there soon! Been too busy researching for the next tour :)
