MY FAVORITE PHOTOS

I was memed today (or was I tagged?) by Missouri Michael over at Cul-de-sac-shack. What does that even mean? One definition I found said this; "By some other definitions memes are viral and propagate around sometimes mutating as they propagate." That doesn't sound very nice. After all,. I am a married woman Michael! Anyway, I am supposed to post my favorite picture. I have noticed though that everyone cheats and posts more than one. (except you Vintage Christine, miss smarty pants rule follower!)

So here are a couple of my favorite photographs.

This picture was taken in Ketchikan, Alaska a few years back. I lived in Ketchikan for several years in the mid seventies to the early eighties. I quit college in 1975 and traveled north to Alaska to make my fortune. My brother followed a year later. A year or two later, my sister joined us. And finally, a year or so after that, my Mom retired early and joined us. She was about the age I am now. The photo was taken from a friend's boat at City Float. In the backround is Deer Mountain. We climbed that mountain the following day.

This is the view from the top looking back down at City Float and the town of Ketchikan. It took us about three hours to climb 3100 feet. We had a mission that day. We scattered my brother's ashes at the top, overlooking the town and the people that he loved. It was a fine day.

Now, can you guess which one is me?

So now I'm suppose to tag 5 more peeps. If you've already been tagged, sorry. Find another favorite!

  1. Wow! Those are beautiful pictures! That's so sweet about what you did with your brother's ashes--I'm actually getting ready to go to San Francisco where I will follow Mom's wishes and toss a few of her ashes off the Golden Gate Bridge (hopefully they won't blow right back in my face, ugh). Then she wanted us to go have an Irish Coffee at the Buena Vista Cafe. No problem there!

  2. Ooooh, that's a gorgeous photo, it reminds me of the south of France!

Thank you for tagging me! I'm going to have to think about this for a day or two! :)

  3. Christine, have an Irish Coffee for me too and don't stand downwind on the bridge. You'll be able to sing "I left my mom, in San Francisco...." (maybe not high on a hill) That is a pretty cool request from your Mom. Still giggling about that photo of her.

Richard, looking forward to seeing what picture you post. I know it's going to be a good one.
