(Update on little black chair. 2/2/10)
I recovered it again recently.
Didn't like the white. Pictured above is the final product.
I'm not touching it again. It's finished. Really.

Such a sad little chair.

Sitting outside at Purrrfect Bargain Thrift Store. Almost in the rain.
Also found at the same store, a futon cover.

I hated to cut it up, but I didn't need a futon cover.
I needed upholstery fabric for this tattered seat cushion.

The staples wouldn't go all the way in.
I had to hammer them in the rest of the way.
I also managed to hammer my finger.
OUCH!
Bingo, I found a can of black spray paint in the shed.

Happy Chair!

Happy Ending.
Looks Great! Oh the Powers of Tender Love and Care!
ReplyDeleteThis is just what I needed! I bought a pair of MCM chairs that could benefit from a paint job but I felt guilty about covering up the wood. Thanks for the boost! Your chair look so much better. The black brings out the beautiful details. Great job! Lisa
ReplyDeleteYou've got to be fearless to spraypaint an old chair, but with results like this, who cares?! No makeover is worth the effort unless you either cut yourself or bang your finger. You did good!!
ReplyDeleteSo great, it looks like a totally differnt chair. There's nothing you can't do with a stapler & spraypaint :)
ReplyDeleteGreat minds think alike! Love it! We have matching bruises from these old chairs...I think they are trying to tell us something! Thanks for stopping by
ReplyDeleteYes Mama Bird, they have a funny way of saying "thank you", don't they?
