Tomorrow we will take the plunge and hope for the best. We are putting in an offer on a piece of property, so send some good ju-jus our way. Here are a few pictures of homes I wish we could afford to build.
You get the idea...lots of windows mixed with a tad of industrial and lots of mid century modern.
I wish you luck on your bid for the property. I know that land is expensive and building a "dream" home is a big project. But I'm here to say that it's worth the effort and I hope you get a chance to experience what it's like. I love that last photo. The living room is beautiful. I'm much more traditional but I wouldn't mind a living room like this. The floors are wood..., and all those windows. Wow! I'd just throw in a few antiques.
Well, I can only hope that you don't have to go through the nightmare I'M going through just trying to get a frickin' condo in Florida. Two weeks have gone by since we made the offer and I STILL don't have a loan in place! Yours will go smoothly since I have a total lock on all the bad voodoo around. Ha. Ha. Ha.
Thanks everyone. Mick, we have thought of steel construction and we are looking into it. I love the idea of no interior supporting walls and wide open spaces. (on a small scale) Barbara, I have been ordering books on ebay from 50's and 60's and they are full of fabulous plans.
Best wishes on the new endeavor. We hope to be able to get a little piece of lake property at some point and build a mod "cabin". We can dream, can't we?
