First Harvest of the Summer

I pulled these giant radishes from
the garden this morning.
All the rain we've had resulted
in a pretty healthy crop so far.

The tomato plants are flowering.

The petunias are keeping them company.
I think it makes the tomato plants happy.

The peppers are thriving too.
I see lots of salsa in our future.

The jasmine is ready to pop.
It makes the garden smell heavenly.
The sun is finally out and
the temperature is rising.
I'm so ready for some sunshine.

  2. My poor neighbor's garden is struggling--she has to soak it every morning since we haven't had any rain (except for a little yesterday) since way before she planted it. We are SO in a drought! Those radishes look incredible.

  3. Thanks Sudha, can't wait for the tomatoes.

Christine...we've had lots of rain which makes for a depressing start to summer but the reservoirs are full and we haven't had to water yet. Silver linings, right?

  5. your vegie patch looks wonderful...there is nothing nicer than a freshly picked home-grown tomato, although the lovely smell of jasmine in flower would have to be up there...

  6. What a lush, lovely sight! It looks like you're going to be knee-deep in veggies soon. I keep forgetting to turn on my sprinkler system. Maybe this will inspire me to get off my duff and go do it before my yard dries up and blows away.

I love that the Petunias are making your Tomatoes happy.
Let's hope for more summer heat to make the veggies grow....

  9. Those radishes are the supermodels of veggies! I wish I had a green thumb, my farmer mother would be so disappointing in me, lol! At least my little sister inherited it, her garden is fantastic too!
