Yesterday we stopped by the
Waste Management Recycle Store.
We headed back there the
first thing this morning.
The Mister and I saw this yesterday....
and both woke in the middle of the night
knowing we had to have it.
Weird. We're not sure
what we'll do with it.
But somehow it fits into the plans.
In the garden perhaps.
A potting table/sink?
I see terra cotta pots piled
on either end.
Or maybe an outdoor kitchen..
Under a pergola with lots of twinkie lights
and a huge wooden table with
lots of mismatched chairs.
For a very brief moment we even
thought about putting it inside the house.
I don't thing we need a triple sink though.
And it doesn't exactly go along
with the MCM thing.
We just like it.
We'll figure out what to do
with it later.
Do you ever find yourself
strangely drawn to something
that's a little weird?
I'm drawn to your blog! HA!! HA!!
ReplyDeleteNow that IS weird MMMC! Ha!! ha!!
ReplyDeletenice!! any resource which could lead us to a local waste management store in atlanta ??
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely weird, but you're right that it has a million potential uses. I would have bought it too. It's too cool to pass up! I can't wait to see what you finally decide to do with it.
ReplyDeleteSudha, I've called around and made inquiries about how this place came to be and I didn't get any answers...I think every city should have one though. Nobody seems to know exactly how make it happen.
ReplyDeleteDana, I know we're not the only weirdos in town because while we were picking up our trailer, someone else came and loaded the sink into the back of their truck. Gino had to make them haul it back in. He said they were very disappointed. I wonder what their plans were.
Drawn to something weird? Does my hubby count? So much potential... if I were a gardeny type, I'd paint it green and have geraniums, garden tools... but am more of a let's have a party type, I'd paint bright colored and fill it with ice to hold canned beverages when people are over.
ReplyDeleteHECK I am drawn to strange stuff all the time, So I don't think its weird. I think its awsome! I mean really how often to you come across something like that??
ReplyDeletegosh, that sink has so many possibilities! I would have taken it home as well! And as for weird items...I am the queen of buying weird stuff...just ask my hubby!
ReplyDeleteStrange? Oh sure.
ReplyDeleteWhile going through some boxes in a closet, I came across the "Ugly Postcard Collection" I have. It's quite substantial too.
Then there is my ugly, under $10 handmade by unknown people, pottery collection. The more lopsided the better (but no little kid things, unless they look cool).
My folks used to collect fossil sharks teeth when they lived on the east coast, just found those again.
And Mom drove all the way across the country with some driftwood she picked up on an eastern beach, with I still have most of.
:)
So I get why you needed that sink.
Now see, this is why I love blogging...any little bit of buyers remorse has disappeared. I love my big old rusty party/potting/garden sink. And I love it that you love it too! Thanks everybody.
ReplyDeleteOne thing I wanted to add: People who lived in the 50's had a lot of things OLDER than the 50's, just as most people have things from 10, 20 30+ years ago right now.
ReplyDeleteSo it fits in just fine. :)
ARH: You're absolutely right...we're not MCM purists by any means. I like mixing things up. We'll have fun with it, that's for sure!
ReplyDeleteI would have bought that sink in a heartbeat and then asked myself "what in the world are you going to do with this thing?". As "visionists" we somehow figure it out.
ReplyDeletewow can't wait to see what you do with it ;-) have a wonderful week, dee x
ReplyDeleteOh, ya...it would be unusual if I was drawn to something that wasn't weird! I like all the ideas you have for this industrial sink. I could easily imagine it inside a house, just give it a good polishing and you can wash enough dishes to equip an army!
ReplyDeleteThats a wonderful double industrial sink, which I wish, I had. Lucky you and a good eye. I am jealous and happy for you. It's truly great. Thanks for dropping by with the kind comment, it helped!
