I can't resist coffee carafes. I am especially fond of this one. I love the design on the carafe and the cool handle.
Way too pretty for an ashtray.
I couldn't resist for 50 cents.
I saw one of these on etsy. What do you suppose it is? We use it for cell phone chargers and keys. The little dish was purchased separately.
This coffee table was another Waste Management find. I LOVE that place.
I also found this original oil painting by Carlo of Hollywood at WM. I paid $5.00 for it. I have seen them for sale on the internet for several hundred dollars. I have not seen one that has sold however. There is a web page about the artist. It doesn't really matter how much it's worth because we have gotten our five dollars worth just staring at the painting and trying to figure out what it is. It is growing on me.
I want every single thing you posted about today! I, too, am a carafe addict and have one with pink appliques (with matching sugar & creamer) that you would love. I also can't stop buying chip & dip sets (especially the vintage Pyrex promotionals) and those Lazy Susan things. It's always such a score when you find not only the bowls but also the twirly thingie. I think that thing with all the sections is to be used on a picnic but not sure. And that painting, oh my gosh, would I love to have that in my house.
Great finds! We used to have a place in town that was a graveyard for discarded random things that were organized by type and subject. Old lockers, bowling balls, it was reportedly epic! I'm sad to say they are not longer open.
An 80 year old man named Gino runs WM. He actually hangs out at the dumps and pulls things out that he thinks are worthy of saving. Unfortunately, when he retires the store will close. Apparently they lose money every month. I can't believe someone would actually haul my beautiful console (another cool console post) to the dumps! (but I'm glad they did!)
Oh holy crap! That coffee table is beautiful--and so is every other piece. But really, that coffee table is fabulous. Good finds! I'm jealous, but glad you found such wonderful stuff-and hey--that painting is fantastic!
