Oscar Niemeyer

My work is not about "form follows function," but "form follows beauty" or, even better, "form follows feminine."

  1. They are amazing pieces of architecture, aren't they? I've never seen them before ... so 'Howard Roarke' ... cutting edge and individualistic.

  2. What a shame he didn't (or wasn't able to) design more of these gorgeous homes for the US. His work is simply stellar.

BTW, I wonder if he did the sculptures pictured as well.

  3. I was in the 6th grade when Brasilia formally became the capital of Brazil. I remember it well, because my teacher, Mr. Brown, did a geography unit on the subject, and I thought the architecture was amazing even then. Who knew I'd still be in love with Brasilia furniture these 50+ years later? Beautiful post, as always. Thanks!
