Rain gutters overflowed.
Streets flooded.
The wind howled.
I had to call on my Rainy Day Man
I felt like a fish...
In water.
Suddenly we had a water feature
on our deck.
And a pond in front.
And one in back...
for good measure.
Our senior home
took on a little water.
Okay, a lot of water.
There was a creek
where there wasn't one before.
My rainy day man told me
to put the camera down
and grab a shovel.
The pool became a pond.
I think it needs some fish.
Isn't life exciting?
Wow, your pool is FULL! Hasn't this rain been something?
ReplyDeleteWater flooded down off the mountain and into the pool! Did you have any flooding?
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! All those autumnal leaves down the drain. I hope there wasn't too much damage. And glad you could see the humorous side ... I guess sometimes you have to!
ReplyDeleteI love when one's told to put down the camera and pitch in! Ha! Ha!
Merry Christmas to you MCM, and to your boys and water creatures and lovely chairs.
Oh yeah, the rain is crazy here in Socal too! Our infrastructure isn't made to handle this much rain! I have some "lake effect" happening in my driveway--looks kinda like that pool!
ReplyDeleteThanks MMMC. No serious damage, just alot of mucking up. Merry Christmas to you and yours!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas Amber! Hope you've managed to stay dry!
ReplyDeleteWe survived here outside of Jackson. We live on a hill. All is safe and soggy.
ReplyDeleteLove the new "creek" on your property. If you wait until the end of the week it may turn into a small river for Christmas.
Water IN the house is not good. Hope your floors are OK.
I forgot to tell you how beautiful your blog header photo is. I love it.
ReplyDeleteThanks! Yes, the floors survived, thankfully. I can't believe we've had so much precipitation and we are only in December! Think I'll go bake some ginger cookies!
ReplyDeleteAnd it's still raining here in SoCal!
ReplyDeleteHope all is well with you, dry here... For now...
Good thing I didn't plan on travel this time of year! =O
