This is my friend Jean.
She turned 80 on Christmas Day 2009.
She's not one to hide her age.
She's proud to be an octogenarian.
She is one of the residents at our senior home.
She bakes all of our desserts, from scratch.
She dressed in her toy soldier outfit last year
to entertain the troops.
She made her hat out of an ice cream bucket.
Jean decided a month or so ago to clear
out some of the things in her closet.
She asked me if I wanted any of this stuff.
Of course I took it all.
She knows I'm a thrift store junkie.
Someday I will do a post on her little house
full of very cool things.
She had a box full of reflectors
Lots of them.

And another box of a zillion bulbs in very cool colors.
More bulbs.
Have you ever seen these?
I hadn't but I can't wait to try them out.
You can clip the lights anywhere on the cord.
These came with replacement bulbs also.
Jean just loves it that I love her stuff.
I love it that Jean loves it that you love her stuff!
ReplyDeleteJean looks gorgeous. I'm glad she's got a friend like you!
Those lightbulbs look like lollies! I hope Jean has a joyous Christmas this year.
There's a whole lotta love goin' on here! Aren't the bulbs beautiful? I think I may put them in a big bowl on the coffee table and just stare at them through the holidays.
ReplyDeleteJean has a huge family and is sure to have a splendid Christmas. And yes, she is beautiful inside and out.
Very, very cool. And what great gifts!
ReplyDeleteHow nice! Jean looks like a lot of fun!
ReplyDeleteWe're doing a dog food drive for homeless dogs on my blog. Anyone who wants to help would be appreciated!!

You already know how VERY envious I am that you have a friend like Jean!!
ReplyDelete(Although we did find some neat things up in the garage rafters today!)
You always find the greatest things in your own home! I am envious of that! If you tell me it's an aluminum tree I'll scream. And then I'll jump in my car and come hijack it.
