Sir Paul McCartney Rocks My World!

Have you ever been to a concert of an icon from your childhood only to leave a wee bit disappointed because they didn't live up to your expectations or memories? Let me tell you....that was NOT the case here. Yes my friends, Paul had me at "Hello San Francisco!" I felt a little giddy. Okay, I was over the top. I was 10 years old again, my heart was beating out of my chest...and yes, I even got teary eyed on several occasions. When he sang "Yesterday" I had the strongest urge to scream out "I LOVE YOU PAUL!" I wanted to weep, I wanted to run screaming down to the stage, throw my shoes at him so he'd notice me, but I didn't. I wanted to, but I didn't.

They came by ferry boat.

They sailed in to listen from outside the park.
We filled the stadium.....40,000 of us.
And then he appeared.
and performed the songs we have loved for so long..
Fireworks lit up the night sky.
It was a night to remember...

Thank you Paul. We do love you.

  1. Oh my goodness! I'm so happy for you. I'm going to see Paul in two weeks, and I cannot wait. I got to see him about six years ago for the first time, and I consider myself so lucky to get to see him in my home state this time (the first time he's ever played Nashville). The setlist looks awesome! A Day in the Life, I'm Looking Through You...??!!! Now I really can't wait!

  2. Oh crap, he sang Here Today? I burst into tears when he sang that at Staples Center. You're lucky, they let you take pictures. We couldn't. The only thing I have is a Tshirt (that I've never worn) and a ticket stub.

    McCartney rocks, doesn't he?

  3. Susie O, you will love this concert. His band did not miss a note and Paul sounded like he did when he was a Beatle.

Barbara...is the man amazing or what?

  5. Love it - I had the same feelings and experience when I saw him in concert. He never disappoints. And yeah, he sang "Here Today" and "Something" (on ukelele) in honor of John and George and it was very moving!

  6. I haven't seen Paul McCartney (sounds amazing) but I did see Paul Simon, and it ruled my world! It was not disappointing in the least..well except maybe that it had to end!

  7. It was a concert to end all concerts, I will say that!! Just being in the same air as McCartney was enough for me, but the show was so solid and like you said, he didn't miss a note!

Ozzy Osborne was in a box above us, and every once in a while you could hear him yell "McCartney, you rock!!"

Pam@GoRetro: Were we at the same concert? He did the ukelele for George at mine too!
