I have a penchant for large ugly lamps. I can enter a building, like the Waste Management recycling warehouse, and spot an ugly lamp from a hundred yards away. It may be tucked back behind a bunch of smaller, not so ugly lamps, but I will spot it hiding behind the scenes. It makes my son crazy. He pleads with me not to carry the hideous thing across the store but I ignore his pleas. He runs for cover pretending he doesn't know me. We have a silent agreement. When I spot an ugly lamp we will meet back at the car. I save him the humiliation of walking through the warehouse with the lady and the ugly lamp. It's funny though, my ugly lamps always seem to grow on him. Here are a few of my favorite ugly lamps.
