Malm Makeover

This was really a make-under.

I posted awhile back about my Malm fireplace. I had planned to have it powder coated but noticed a bit of yellow peeking through the black.

After many hours of hard labor, a jug of acetone and some paint stripper, I was able to restore it back to it's former glory.

This beautiful yellow enamel was under all that black spray paint.

And while I'm at it, here are some photos of the beautiful display of California Poppies in our area. Thank you El Nino.

  2. I love your poppy-colored, poppy-shaped fireplace! That original finish is just what it was crying out for! I also enjoyed your poppy photos, we have them on our property above the South Fork of the American River also. What a wonderful way to welcome spring.
