She's downsizing to a much smaller place and sadly didn't have room for them.
This set was in her house when she was a little girl. She's in her 80's now.
I couldn't bare seeing them go to the thrift store.
I know she loves them.
I wonder how many times the color has changed over the years.
I'm hoping she'll find a place someday that
will accommodate them.
They belong with her.
Until then, I'll take good care of them.
I'm sure ever coat of paint has a story. That's one of the reasons I love old furniture.
ReplyDeleteWe had a similar set when I was a kid although I don't remember it being red. You are sweet to take care of her furniture for the time being, and I know you will take GOOD care of it. I love the way old paint cracks and bubbles like that, it gives it such character.
ReplyDeleteOMG - it had better not EVER go to a thrift store!! Geez - I would LOVE to have a fabulous old set like that in my sunroom! I love it, chippy and all. I can't believe all of the fabulous stuff you have gotten from her!
